From Shopzilla blog:

"Currently, we offer actual price information tagged as within the element. Soon, we will additionally provide the original price and related markdown percentage to allow for display of markdown information for each offer. In the event an offer is not on sale, the response will return a markdown percentage of "0.00".

Sample XML:

$169.00
$169.00
0.00

Release: Thursday, September 16th (tentative)

API Versions: Bizrate, Beso

The release of these new fields should not impact you unless you have developed a means of auto-generating your XML handling code based on the XML schema document for the Product Service. If you have done this, you will need to update your schema.

Don't forget to follow us on Twitter for snappy release notifications! Upon release, you will be able to see an example result set returned with this new value through our Catalog API Interactive Documentation. In order to access this documentation, you will need to log in with your Catalog API Key & Publisher ID. Once you are in there, view the Product Service Resource section. At the very bottom of this section, you will see a link "[ + ] show test form". This will allow you to test out queries, viewing sample XML.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.

Shopzilla API developers have changed the type of query share information about merchants. New request is: Merchant Service.

The Merchant Service allows your application to access data about our merchants. It returns three major types of data elements: Merchant Info, Merchant Ratings, and Merchant Reviews. Within the Merchant Info element, this service returns both basic merchant data, such as logo and URL, as well as detailed meta data including description and other attributes. Within the Merchant Ratings element, this service returns detailed merchant ratings data. Within the Merchant Reviews element, the service returns both detailed merchant review data and corresponding merchant response data.

Correspondingly, this service can be used for any combination of four major types of queries:

•lookup of basic merchant data, including merchant logo and URL
•lookup of detailed merchant data, including merchant description and other attributes
•lookup of merchant ratings data
•lookup of merchant reviews data

Data Refresh: Merchant Service content should be cached for no more than one (1) day.

Old Service (Merchant Info Service) will no longer be available after September 15, 2010.
